After extensive testing, Media Broadcast has chosen our CP560 DVB-T2 Gateway for the key DVB-T2 trial in Niedersachsen, Germany.
It’s an exciting development as Media Broadcast is Germany’s leading DTT operator and a sought-after partner for national and international broadcasting organisations. Since the beginning of digital television in Berlin in 2003, Media Broadcast has gradually been extending the availability of DTT for its customers.
Our CP560 solution integrates with existing DVB-T headends and DVB-T2 modulators to enable DTT operators to take advantage of the considerable bandwidth efficiencies enabled by the migration to DVB-T2. These bandwidth efficiencies can be utilized to launch additional SD and HD channels and increase video quality or to improve portable and mobile reception.
“The fact that T-VIPS has already launched DVB-T2 solutions, can demonstrate an industry-leading field experience of processing solutions for DVB-T, as well as delivering a unique and advanced approach to single frequency network operation made T-VIPS an ideal DVB-T2 trial partner,” says Bertold Heil, Head of Strategy & Business Development, Media Broadcast.
The CP560 DVB-T2 Gateways, which are now live at the trial transmitter sites of Lueneburg and Rosengarten.
Being chosen to play a crucial role in the Media Broadcast trial of this important new broadcast standard is a further validation of our leadership position in advanced DVB-T. We’re excited to be part of this important trial with Media Broadcast and we are confident that the clear advantages of DVB-T2 will make it a must have for DTT operators looking to launch new services, including HD.
