T-VIPS Stands Out in 3D at NAB 2010

Throngs of delegates came to watch as we demonstrated our 3D video transport solutions on our own booth and as part of All Mobile Video Inc’s 3D production truck on the Sony booth at this year’s NAB.

Creating the buzz were our 3D JPEG2000-based solutions, including the TVG450, which made its NAB debut, and the TVG480, which previewed at NAB and is designed for post-production and digital cinema. The TVG450 is the industry’s first JPEG2000 video gateway, it’s based on the latest advances in JPEG2000 compression and IP networking, supports SD, HD, 3G HD (1080p) and 3D contribution over IP transport networks and delivers the best possible viewer experience.

We’re proud to be at the heart of the evolution of 3D. An example was a 3D demo seen by thousands on the Sony NAB booth, in which the TVG450 played a key role in enabling 3D transport on the All Mobile Video (AMV) truck. The high-level functionality of the TVG450 combined with its compact size and low-weight make it ideal for mobile video applications. The demonstration showed the T-VIPS TVG450 feeding a new Sony 10 bit LMD 4251 TD 2D/3D display - with stunning results.

It was a great opportunity to show what a good match our solutions are for the contribution of full resolution stereoscopic 3D. In the time since our pioneering demo of 3D surgery video and our awesome 3D demo at IBC2009, 3D has really taken off. Industry pundits and market researchers are predicting increasing deployment and fast growth rates, there’s a lot of activity in 3D standards development and operators launching new 3D services.
